MVC Crit on Sunday, May 6th, 2012 was a success.  122 riders came out on a reasonably sunny day, and we only had one small crash of a single rider swinging too wide on a turn and taking a solo tumble.  Scraped his back a bit, but nothing major.  MVC also had some impressive results in the races, especially Maggie and Jen soloing in for first and second in the women's cat 3/4.  Thanks to all the riders who came out, and thank you to all the club members who gave their time to make this race a success.

Mystic Velo Club (MVC) is a USA Cycling and USA Triathlon registered club. MVC strives to promote amateur and recreational cycling in Southeastern Connecticut. We host the Mystic Velo Criterium at Ninigret Park RI, and co-host the Whaling City Cyclone in New London CT, and the Three Village Tour in Baltic CT. Our website seeks to provide information useful to members and others that may be interested in cycling.

We welcome new members, whether your goals are to become an elite racer, a regional champion, an aspiring junior, want to give racing a try, or just want to enjoy time on your bike.   We do not require race participation. Members are encouraged to develop cycling skills based on available time, interest, and ability.

Annual dues are used to support club activities. Team uniforms (kits) are available for purchase by members of the club. Our members serve as mentors and information sources for newcomers and experienced riders alike to help those interested in competitive and recreational cycling excel.

team picture before the group ride at our 2011 end-of-season picnic

Overcast weather, and several flats and ruined tires, still did not dampen the fun of the ride, and a great picnic.  See the rest of the pics in the photo gallery.

Thanks everyone for a great season, we are all looking forward to some fun chilly winter training rides, just to start all the same fun again next year.

Kit redesign survey results will be posted soon, thanks to the 20 people who took the time to respond
